    This Privacy Analyst position supports the FAA Enterprise Solutions & Engineering (ESE) Chief Privacy Office team. This position focuses on enterprise-wide systems security engineering for FAA Mission Support (MS) and National Airspace System (NAS) Programs connected through the FAA’s Federal Telecommunications Infrastructure (FTI) network. Additional focus is placed on systems security requirements, systems security architecture, and systems security solution implementation assessments.


    The candidate will:

    • Serve on a team of system security engineers and privacy analysts tracking performance
    • Ensure compliance with contract requirements in the area of telecommunications service solutions with hybrid systems
    • Provide expertise in ensuring the privacy of enterprise level security engineering solutions
    • Conduct privacy assessments and make recommendations based on a risk perspective factored against FAA Orders, Policies, Guidelines and Policy Notices
    • Provide privacy requirements for architecture assessments. Include in these assessments functional allocation to Intrusion Detection Systems/Intrusion Prevention Systems (IDS/IPS) in the core backbone network, access networks, and boundary protection NESGs
    • Support functional privacy security assessments including allocations to application/network firewalls, Web application gateways, virus protection, and protocol scanning capabilities
    • Ensure privacy system security requirements are infused into architecture and new system integration Concept of Operation (CONOPS) assessments
    • Coordinate compliance of system requirements for future NAS system interactions and associated implementation alternatives using NAS and non-NAS telecommunications, networking, and boundary protection infrastructure
    • Analyze and document results of current FAA Enterprise Architecture (EA) and NAS EA environments
    • Identify infrastructure privacy gaps and vulnerabilities and recommend solutions to improve the "as-is" FAA architecture in relation to the NAS and non-NAS requirements
    • Working knowledge of the Federal Risk Management Framework (RMF) and NIST Security Engineering Standards as well as Agency Security Engineering policies and guidelines for Federal Risk Management Framework (RMF) NIST Security Engineering Standards

    Client Engagement

    • Begin developing relationships one level up and two levels down. Identify and support opportunities to expand project scope beyond current deliverable and actively share information about clients’ emerging support needs and trends with team members and management.

    Required Qualifications:


    • Bachelor’s degree with at least 5 years of relevant experience providing Privacy Analysis for Information Systems for large-scale network-enabled communications services
    • Excellent communication, cross-functional team collaboration, and results-oriented problem-solving
    • Strong professional, interpersonal, presentation, technical writing, and organizational skills
    • Ability to work in a dynamic team-oriented environment and demonstrates teamwork and taking initiative
    • Ability to develop and effectively communicate solution options and justifications to internal and external stakeholders and adjust to level of role and understanding
    • Ability to uncover business challenges and objectives and document customer solutions to solve these challenges
    • Highly knowledgeable of relevant Federal Information Systems Security Privacy issues, policies, regulations or practices (Privacy Act, NIST, OMB, etc.)
    • Working experience developing, reviewing, and updating PTAs, PIAs, SORNs, and Privacy Act Statements
    • Knowledge of Continuous Monitoring (Ongoing Authorization)
    • Ability to interface and coordinate with the Line-of-Business and/or Staff Office that originates or has responsibility for a PIA, PTA, or SORN, ensuring each document contains appropriate information

    Desired Qualifications:


    • Relevant work experience in the areas of Data Privacy and Governance in Federal Agencies
    • Familiarity with relevant Federal Information Systems Security Privacy issues, policies, regulations, or practices
