  • Responsibilities

    Noblis is positioned to provide technology and operational solutions to senior decision makers in the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) Science and Technology (S&T) Directorate. The DHS S&T Directorate is the primary research and development arm of the DHS and manages science and technology research, from development through transition, for the Department's operational components and first responders to protect the homeland. Established by Congress to provide innovative solutions to the nation's homeland security challenges, S&T is the core source of scientific and engineering expertise for DHS and is uniquely postured to enhance our nation's security and resilience by providing knowledge products and innovative technology solutions for the Homeland Security Enterprise (HSE).

    Specific Duties include, but are not limited to the following:

    • Write Minutes/Summaries and transmit action items after client calls
    • Send and track correspondence with clients, speakers, participants, and sponsors/exhibitors
    • Work with venues to coordinate meeting room set up, AV requirements, and catering
    • Coordinate and oversee production of meeting materials to include: name badges, meeting materials, program books, supplies, signage, etc.
    • Oversee packing and shipping of meeting materials
    • Staff events and manage onsite registration
    • Occasional onsite management at local meetings (Northern VA, DC, MD) and occasional domestic long-distance travel
    • Create and analyze event evaluations and prepare post-event reports
    • Data entry and administration functions
    • Develop, implement and sustain a Strategic Communications, Marketing and Engagement plan.
    • Develop a strategic roadmap for communicating and leveraging agency assets to inform stakeholders how S&T conducts business
    • Deploy tactics to engage and openly exchange of information with key individuals and organizations across the stakeholder spectrum.
    • Conduct outreach and provide responses that promote continued communications with internal and external stakeholders.
    • Assess, develop and implement methods to improve current communications tools internally and
    • Assist in the development event websites and online registration forms


    Client Engagement

    · Learn about the Noblis business development life-cycle, processes, tools, and account structure
    · Contribute specialized domain or technical content to proposal sections or client white papers
    · Build a productive relationship with your client and understand their structure and goals.


    • B.A./B.S. degree required, in a communications-related area preferred. 
    • Minimum 5 years of relevant experience related to communications and event planning
    • Experience supporting executive/SES level leadership
    • Ability to work on multiple projects which includes prioritizing, tracking, attention to detail, follow-up and follow-through to project completion
    • Flexibility and adaptability working in a fast-paced environment
    • Demonstrated ability to drive for results independently and adapt to rapidly changing priorities
    • Strong interpersonal skills to establish effective working relationships
    • Strong project management skills
    • Proficient writer
    • Experience and proficiency working with MS Office (Word, Project, Excel and PowerPoint) and collaboration sites (MS SharePoint)
    • Excellent communication, written, and organizational skills
    • Ability to work on multiple projects which includes prioritizing, tracking, attention to detail, follow-up and follow-through to project completion
    • Flexibility/Adaptability to work in a fast-paced environment

    • Minimium of an Interim Secret Clearance required.  Ability to be cleared through DHS Suitability.
