  • Responsibilities

    Noblis' life sciences and bioinformatics practice is focused on advancing infectious disease science, synthetic biology research, and molecular biology signatures and detection methods for the national security domain. This role is to provide subject matter expertise and technical execution of ongoing bioscience research efforts and support business development and proposal writing.


    The incumbent will serve as a core member and thought leader of the Noblis Bioscience Team, which provides cutting edge support to a range of defense, homeland security, and intelligence community clients and maintains an expansive internal research and development portfolio.   Primary responsibilities are expected to include:

    • Technical execution and expertise of the IARPA FELIX program
    • Principal Investigator developing and executing internally- and externally-funded bioscience research
    • Solutions Architect contributing to capture and execution of key Advanced Research programs in the defense, homeland security, and intelligence space
    • Subject Matter Expert providing technical leadership to pursuits and programs across the Noblis enterprise
    • Noblis company asset representing the firm through publications, presentations, and professional membership

    Client Engagement

    · Contribute to large capture strategies, actively engage with clients, and market Noblis capabilities externally
    · Foster appropriate identification and selection of business development opportunities, and provide thought leadership to help shape future work
    · Win 2 task orders, identify big bets or take responsibility for a re-compete



    • PhD in a life sciences and/or bioinformatics domain;
    • 20 years experience in managing science performer work at DARPA, IARPA, NIH, DTRA, DoD, or BARDA;
    • Informatics expertise in synthetic biology, microbial genomics, pan-genome analysis, and shotgun fragment assembly;
    • Experience in the development of scientific software;
    • Experience in high-content data visualization/analysis (e.g. network analysis);
    • Publications in related domains;
    • Ability to communicate technical results to a non-technical audience;
    • Adept at working in interdisciplinary scientific teams
