Algorithm Developer / Operations Research Specialist
Are you an engineer, mathematician, or computer scientist skilled in algorithm development for data analysis and machine learning? Are you passionate about solving difficult challenges for our nation?
If so, we're looking for someone like you to join our team of scientists and engineers dedicated to applying surface transportation technology to the goal of improving our nation’s infrastructure.
We are seeking an engineer or computer scientist to work with our team to develop algorithms for processing transportation data.
The job duties of an algorithm developer revolve around researching, writing, and testing algorithms. As an algorithm developer, your responsibilities include working to implement your algorithms and then to analyze and modify them as needed. Algorithms use data from a system to generate actions, processes, or reports. In this career, you will collaborate with a team to create theories and then perform research and tests until you have designed an efficient algorithm.
This is an opportunity for someone with background and experience in development or operations research to support the United States Department of Transportation’s (USDOT’s) ITS Program.
