  • Responsibilities

    VÖR (Versatile Ontology Research) is a software suite comprising data processing pipelines, a REST API, and a user interface. The VÖR Software Developer responsibilities include programming, documenting, testing, debugging, and participating in agile development activities to include sprint planning, working in a team environment, participating in standups, and other agile practices. The developer shall strive to improve themselves, the team as a whole, and the development process through daily teamwork, communication, idea-sharing, collaboration and problem-solving.


    Required Qualifications:

    Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or Software Engineering

    1-3 years of experience in Software Development

    Basic understanding of the Agile process

    Experience in some of the following languages: Python, Java, JavaScript, HTML/CSS

    Experience in some of the following products: Kafka, Docker, SQLAlchemy

    Database experience with some of the following products: PostgreSQL, MySQL, Oracle, MongoDB

    Basic understanding of software testing: Unit testing, integration testing, etc.

    Ability to obtain DOD clearance

    Communication and Interpersonal:

    Prepare and/or contribute to technical reports, memos, analyses and briefings. Plan and manage assigned deliverables;

    Support meetings, inter-team communication, and issue resolution with the client and internal/project stakeholder groups;


    Desired Qualifications:

    Ability to support multiple projects

    Knowledge of Representational State Transfer (REST) standards

    Knowledge of the python web frameworks: Falcon, Flask, or Django

    Front-end UI experience in some of the frameworks: VueJS, Angular, React, or Bootstrap+jQuery

    Abilitiy to learn and work on different parts of a software stack
