The Data Communications System Engineer is a key contributor in planning, documenting, and executing systems engineering efforts within Data Communications Program. This role requires integrating information about the following: data communications technology, systems engineering practice, independent costing, proposal assessment, and contract management within a fast paced dynamic team environment. You will work with both internal and external stakeholders as well as contractor teams, aviation subject matter experts and the FAA to shape program & technical requirements and ensure they are executed in accordance with those requirements
In this position, you can expect to provide systems engineering expertise, project management fundamentals and data communications program engineering support to the FAA Data Communications Program team, including but not limited to:
- Analysis of architectural and design documents
- Analysis of functional, system, and non-functional requirements, data flows, and dependencies
- Analysis of design and implementation alternatives, trade-offs
- Synthesis of analysis and clear recommendations
