    Noblis is seeking an Economist to plan, analyze and report findings as they relate to project financial performance, revenue generation and other business related questions. This opportunity supports a government agency with analysis to help them understand organizational cost impacts of new projects and methods of implementing intercompany chargebacks. The goal being to identify project cost drivers and accurately charge them back to appropriate projects and also identify cost savings and revenue impacts attributable to their respective projects. Responsibilities include: data collection, data analysis; statistical analysis; technical writing; and communicating findings. As part of a Noblis team, candidates will work closely with government clients to understand current issues and challenges, implement practical and effective solutions and foster the clear understanding of research results.

     

    Qualifications

    • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college in a related discipline, or equivalent experience/combined education, with 8-15 years of professional experience as an Economist/Financial Analyst; or 5-8 years of professional experience with a related Master's degree.
    • Ability to formulate and test hypothesis to validate an economic approach to solve problems
    • Experience performing analysis of data through use of mathematical algorithms, statistics and comparative analysis
    • Ability to validate findings and check ones own work
    • Ability to generate reports that clearly communicate findings and consider stakeholder feedback
    • Experience with Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint required
    • Excellent multi-tasking, time management skills, and attention to detail
    • Experience analyzing operational data in the area of Marketing, Production, or Financial organizations
    • Experience analyzing and attributing revenue sources and impacts from operational changes and marketing initiatives
    • Pinpoint trends, correlations and patterns in complicated data sets
    • Knowledge of business financial systems and controls
    • Experience performing financial analysis

     Preferred Qualifications

    • CPA accredited and GAAP experience preferred
    • Experience utilizing statistical techniques to analyze data
    • Ability to graph the data for analysis and to display results
    • Experience with intercompany chargeback systems and processes preferred
    • Proficiency with analytical tools, approaches and algorithms
    • Excellent communication, collaboration, and presentation skills. Proven results-oriented problem solving abilities.
    • Ability to demonstrate teamwork and initiative, and function productively in a dynamic work environment
