Technology and threats evolve rapidly in today’s ever-changing environment. The Department of Homeland Security (DHS) monitors those threats and capitalizes on technological advancements at a rapid pace, developing solutions and bridging capability gaps at a pace that mirrors the speed of life.
This position requires knowledge in the broad areas of U.S. Land, air, maritime and POE security. Knowledge of the mission, operational context, programs and policies of the associated DHS Components is beneficial, specifically U.S. Customes and Border Portection (CBP), U.S. Coast Guard (USCG), Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE), and United States Secret Service (USSS). Borders and Maritime Security Division (MDE) and Program Executive Office for Unmanned AIrcraft Systems (PEO UAS) Program Managers conduct research, development, test and evaluation in priority mission areas. The employee would provide strategic support across a portfolio of technology programs, spanning dozens of individual projects and hundreds of DHS customer requirements. The position includes direct support to Government leaders, particularly at the interfaces among science, technology, policy, law, and business. The employee would also develop formal reports, briefings, and read-ahead materials, as well as organize/coordinate meetings, discussions, and seminars. Occasional CONUS travel may be required.
