As Chief Engineer, A&A you will be the technical strategist and solution architect for the Brand New Air Traffic Control System and will work collaboratively with a team of engineers and senior fellows within the Federal Civilian Mission Area, unifying aircraft, ground infrastructure, and cloud-native services into one seamless airspace-operations ecosystem while considering architecture implications for Sky For All NAS integration concepts and solutions for NAS 2050 and beyond. This is a rare opportunity to shape how every pilot, controller, and passenger experiences the National Airspace System. The A&A Chief Engineer is a senior cross-portfolio role that leads the technical solutioning for engineering challenges across A&A business pursuits. The role provides strategic technical oversight and subject matter expertise as required for critical customer programs within the portfolio, including FAA and NASA as major clients.
The A&A CE reports to the Mission Area Vice President for Federal Civilian Solutions and collaborates across Noblis in technical solutioning for “must-win” corporate pursuits, providing expertise for the requirements analysis, functional analysis and allocations, systems architecture and design, technical management, technology development, and technical review of vendor solutions. The A&A CE will demonstrate a thorough technical understanding of all SOW elements and will serve as an expert in technical reviews and risk mitigation and solution investment and alignment decision-making.
The CE is a proven leader in collaborating and building partnerships across government, academia, and the private sector and in technical staff recruiting, mentorship, and retention. The CE is responsible for proactively identifying and evaluating near, mid, and long-term technologies advancements and associated research and/or technology investment consistent with customer strategic vision and roadmap. With the CEO, CTO, MA VP, Division Directors, and Business Development Leaders, the CE helps assess and set the Noblis Team’s strategic technical direction as well as execution. The CE is responsible for continuously evaluating relevant technology, forecasting, and associated maturity levels and risks. The CE will interact with the customer and other Noblis technical leadership, subcontractor teammates, academia, and industry (when applicable) to identify, plan, and manage engineering initiatives and ensure consistency with customer strategies and technology roadmaps, as well as the enterprise technology and capability portfolio. The CE works with the program staff to ensure technology is consistent with unique project needs (e.g., protection, reliability, scalability), and technical teams to ensure correct application and integration of technologies. The CE proactively assesses risks, develops mitigation strategies, communicates issues, and proposes and implements solutions.

Compensation at Noblis is determined by various factors, including but not limited to, the combination of education, certifications, knowledge, skills, competencies, and experience, internal and external equity, location, clearance level, as well as contract-specific affordability, organizational requirements and applicable employment laws. The projected compensation range for this position is based on full time status. For part time or on-call staff, compensation is proportionately adjusted based on hours worked. While monetary compensation is important, it's just one component of Noblis’ total compensation package.
