Responsibilities

Preference will be given to candidates located in Pascagoula, MS.  However, we are open to candidates located in Norfolk, VA; Bath, ME; and San Diego, CA.

 

 

Noblis MSD has an opening for a Naval Tactical Command Support System (NTCSS) Database Administrator to provide leadership and support to NTCSS team members. In this role, you will: 

 

  • Build, update, maintain and install U.S. Navy new construction Naval Tactical Command Support System (NTCSS) databases.
  • Lead fellow NTCSS team members, submit reports, approve timesheets, conduct employee performance reviews, facilitate meetings, plan schedules and coordinate travel.
  • Provide technical support to Shipboard Non-Tactical ADP Processing (SNAP) Team members.
  • Install NTCSS databases during U.S. Navy ship commissioning and perform NTCSS updates during post ship availability (PSA) relating to DDG, LPD and LHA class ships.
  • Develop computer-based programs to build, update and maintain NTCSS databases (RADM, OMMS-NG and RSUPPLY) for new construction DDG (unit level), LPD (unit level) and LHA (force level) ships.
  • Provide hardware and software support to Naval Tactical Command Support System (NTCSS) databases utilizing HP DL380, HP ML370, Dell Precision 7720/7730/7740 laptops and VM servers.

 

 

Required Qualifications

Bachelor’s Degree in Management Information Systems, Business, Computer Science, Mathematics or related field and 5 years' experience (OR a Master's degree and 3 years' experience, OR an Associate's degree and 8 years' experience)

 

  • At least 1 year leading a team or managing staff.
  • Must have previous experience building, updating, and installing U.S. Navy new construction Naval Tactical Command Support System (NTCSS) databases.
  • Experience using SQL to query and manipulate data in a relational database.
  • Experience using Linux command-line tools to navigate the system, run scripts, monitor services, manage servers.
  • US Citizen and an Active Secret security clearance.
  • Must have a CompTIA Security+ certification or achieve within six months of hire.
  • Must complete Linux Operating System training within six months of hire.
  • 50% travel required.
  • Physical requirements (ability to lift 50Ibs and manuver stairwells onboard new construction ships)

Desired Qualifications

 

  • The ideal candidate would be a former Navy Information Systems Technician (IT Rating) with experience in NTCSS, or NALCOMIS, or OOMA system administration, NMCI, Microsoft Office products and team project management
  • Experience in direct support of Naval Shipyards and the Ship Maintenance Community
  • Experience in Navy Logistics Automated Information Systems strongly preferred
  • Familiar with flankspeed and .NET 
  • Knowledge with Asset Management
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a SCA (Site Collection Admin) certificate

Compensation at Noblis is determined by various factors, including but not limited to, the combination of education, certifications, knowledge, skills, competencies, and experience, internal and external equity, location, clearance level, as well as contract-specific affordability, organizational requirements and applicable employment laws. The projected compensation range for this position is based on full time status. For part time or on-call staff, compensation is proportionately adjusted based on hours worked. While monetary compensation is important, it's just one component of Noblis’ total compensation package.


Posted Salary Range

USD $77,000.00 - USD $120,275.00 /Yr.
