Responsibilities

Noblis MSD is looking for Windows PowerShell Engineer to join our team onsite at NIWC Atlantic in Charleson. This is a full time on-site position in Charleston, SC.

 

Responsibilities include:

 

  • Create, manage, work, and field ECR’s against currently fielded CANES and COMPOSE software baselines
  • Automate solutions for the Warfighter to ensure combat readiness
  • Build Windows server virtual machines using a variety of hypervisor technologies
  • Configure and secure Windows and Linux operating systems and applications IAW DISA STIGs
  • Configure Windows and VMware hypervisors
  • Configure Windows Systems Center technologies
  • Research vendor solutions for systems management architectures
  • Develop advanced PowerShell scripts
  • Develop back- and forward-fit solutions for the US Navy fleet
  • Develop user guides
  • Create automated Windows health checks for validating and maintaining a healthy information system architecture
  • Develop Linux scripts working with Ansible Automation Platform
  • Research and implement solutions to meet cybersecurity requirements (ex. STIGs, TASKORDs, etc.)Provide sustainment engineering services for PMW160 Tactical Networks Software Sustainment IPT working engineering change requests using NIWC engineering process and CMPro for US Navy CANES software baselines
  • Provide in-depth research and analysis of issues
  • Provide high-end multitasking support for desktop, server, and LAN, with a focus on Microsoft Windows technologies
  • Provide in-depth knowledge and technical expertise in the areas of design, installation, maintenance, and support of multiple operating systems and technologies
  • Respond to service requests and Engineering Change Requests (ECR)
  • Prepare technical briefs to present to engineering and/or government review teams
  • Provide Tier 3 Technical Support assistance as needed on escalated ISEA Trouble Tickets
  • Provide assistance to the virtualization team, supporting virtualization technology and participate in pre-test support to include but not limited to; meeting support, documentation review, analysis, and provide recommendations for enhancing virtualization test requirements
  • Test analysis, data collection and evaluate existing problem reports in order to validate observed performance characteristics
  • Conduct product assessments to evaluate the integration of new technologies to improve the application of, and to verify compliance with, the established functional level standards and DoD mandated security requirements
  • Develop automated solutions for Windows Server 2008 and 2012 systems using PowerShell, SCCM, MECM, and WSUS

Required Qualifications

  • Must be a U.S. Citizen
  • Must possess a Department of Defense (DoD) TS/SCI Level Security Clearance
  • Bachelor's Degree + 3 years of experience OR Associate's Degre + 6 years of experience OR High School Diploma + 9 years of experience.
  • Knowledge of technologies including but not limited to: Secure boot, BIOS, Strong certificate mapping, Legacy to modernization software (ex. Windows Server 2012, Server 2019 DC updates going forward), Red Hat Ansible, Microsoft Azure, Microsoft Windows Server Update Services/WSUS (EOL 2030, long term engineering plan, way forward, etc.), Microsoft Extended Security Updates (ESU) EOL support
  • Demonstrated ability to effectively install, configure and administer in a multi-system and/or multi-application environment

Desired Qualifications

 

  • Self-Motivated, strong work ethic and commitment to quality
  • Experience with Navy IT-21 networks using COMPOSE and CANES
  • Knowledge of virtualization technologies using ESX VMWare and Microsoft Windows Hyper-V:
  • Microsoft Windows Server 2008 and above
  • ESX VMWare 3.5 and above
  • MSCE/MCSA - Microsoft Certified System Engineer/Administrator
  • 5 years of Information Technology experience
  • Microsoft Systems Center Configuration Manager (SCCM)
  • Microsoft Endpoint Configuration Manager (MECM)
  • Advanced Windows PowerShell Script Development
  • Experienced with virtualized systems deployment and administration
  • Experienced with SolarWinds Patch Manager
  • Experience with Microsoft Windows Active Directory, Windows Server 2008 (2008 R2 and 2012 R2), Microsoft Windows 7 and 10, and Microsoft Windows Server Update Services
  • Knowledge of TCP/IP networking fundamentals
  • Must have strong documentation and oral communication skills to clearly communicate with all levels of users, engineers, managers and organizations

Desired Education/Certification:

  • BS degree in Engineering or Computer Science
  • CompTIA Security+ CE or equivalent
  • Microsoft certification (e.g. MCSA, MCSE)
  • 8+ years’ experience working with a wide range of IT products
  • 6 years of experience in relevant technical field, to include: Systems Analysis, Systems Architecture, Systems/Equipment Support, Test and Evaluation, and Logistics support of C5ISR requirements.
  • 3 years working knowledge of DHCP, DNS, Active Directory, VLAN management, etc. Note: Experience may be concurrent.
  • 3 years working knowledge and experience in virtualization and shared storage. Note: Experience may be concurrent.
  • Preference for experience with Navy or DoD systems

Compensation at Noblis is determined by various factors, including but not limited to, the combination of education, certifications, knowledge, skills, competencies, and experience, internal and external equity, location, clearance level, as well as contract-specific affordability, organizational requirements and applicable employment laws. The projected compensation range for this position is based on full time status. For part time or on-call staff, compensation is proportionately adjusted based on hours worked. While monetary compensation is important, it's just one component of Noblis’ total compensation package.

Posted Salary Range

USD $63,000.00 - USD $98,440.00 /Yr.
