Responsibilities

Noblis is looking for interns for our 2025 Summer Internship Program!

This role may require customer support in Washington DC a few times per week in Anacostia. However, our 2025 Program will be require some days at our Reston, VA headquarters. 

In this opportunity, the intern will support the Department of Homeland Security’s (DHS) Countering Weapons of Mass Destruction Office (CWMD). The DHS CWMD Office leads DHS efforts and coordinates with domestic and international partners to safeguard the United States against chemical, biological, radiological, and nuclear threats. Potential opportunities include supporting the National Biosurveillance Integration Center (NBIC) or the Strategy, Policy, and Analysis (PSA) Directorate.

  • NBIC Mission: Enable early warning at all levels of government in the event of health security threats, increase shared situational awareness, and support better decisions through rapid identification, characterization, localization, and tracking.
  • PSA Mission: Coordinate and develop DHS policy, strategy, and analysis to counter CBRN threats.

Required Qualifications

What We Need From You: 

  • A GPA of 3.3 or higher  
  • U.S. Citizenship and ability to obtain a Secret clearance and a DHS suitability
  • Be a current master’s or professional degree student with a focus on relevant topics areas (e.g., health security, biological/chemical sciences, international security or policy, international relations, etc.)
  • Ability to relocate to the DC metro area and access on-site facility as needed
  • Excellent communication, written, and organizational skills

Desired Qualifications

  • Interest or skills in any of the following:
    • Life/chemical/biological sciences 
    • Nonproliferation/counterproliferation
    • Biological/chemical threats of natural, accidental, or deliberate origin
    • International security or international relations
    • Policy analysis and legislative affairs
    • Data science, computer science, or modeling

Salary Range Explanation

Salary at Noblis is determined by various factors, including but not limited to, the combination of education, certifications, knowledge, skills, competencies, and experience, internal and external equity, location, and clearance level, as well as contract-specific affordability and organizational requirements and applicable employment laws. The projected compensation range for this position is provided within the posting and are based on full time status. Part time staff receive a prorated salary based on regularly scheduled hours. The estimated minimum and maximum displayed represents the broadest range for this position (inclusive of high geographic and high clearance requirements), and is just one component of Noblis’ total compensation package for employees.


 

Posted Salary Range

USD $23.00 - USD $38.00 /Hr.
