Responsibilities

Noblis MSD is hiring a Production Technician to provide subject matter expertise in ship construction and production efforts, including in the areas of Project Management, Waterfront Engineering, Change Management (including monitoring both Engineering Change Proposal (ECP)-related and non-ECP field changes, independent scoping of changes and cost estimating as needed), Quality Assurance, Test & Trials, and Physical Progressing, including onsite support at the construction shipyard(s) to assist PMS 515 and SUPSHIP personnel. Participate in Planning efforts and Reviews.

 

 

The Production Technician will be responsible for:

  • Providing production management analysis, based on historical information and data from Government databases and ship construction deliverables (including Contract Performance Reports, Integrated Master Schedules, and Integrated Program Management Reports).
  • Providing technical and engineering analysis of production related issues.
  • Developing and maintaining construction performance and schedule adherence metrics for the FFG 62 Class Program.
  • Conduct trial card recording, tracking, coding, trend analysis, and engineering analysis using Technical Support Management (TSM).
  • Produces low-level technical documents, drawings, and other forms of documentation.
  • Review production-related deliverables under the Ship Construction contracts for accuracy and contractual compliance.
  • Collect data from Government databases and Ship Construction Contract Data Requirements List (CDRL) deliverables and use it to provide analyses of quality issues.
  • Provide production engineering oversight of the manufacturing, assembly, and testing of FFG 62 Class selected equipment, critical equipment and the vendor facilities; Participate in Design Reviews, Production Readiness Reviews, and Program Reviews.
  • Prepare production-related correspondence, including letters, memos, emails, Naval Messages, and briefings.
  • Participate in ship tests, compartment completion inspections, certifications, ship trials, and trial card pre-screening.
  • Provide waterfront production support, which shall include monitoring Hull, Mechanical, and Electrical (HM&E) equipment and GFE installation; inspections of shipboard installations to determine completeness including change incorporation; coordination with ship’s force and shipbuilder in preparation for Light-Off Assessment; and investigation and reporting of production or quality problems related to HM&E and integration of GFE systems.
  • Assist in proactively identifying production issues on all frigates under construction in order to help prevent potential damage to ship systems and equipment while the ship remains in a production environment.

 

Required Qualifications

  • A bachelors and 5 years work experience, or 9 years relevant professional experience and subject matter expertise
  • Production experience with surface combatant ships
  • DoD Secret or the ability to obtain a Secret Security Clearance

Salary at Noblis is determined by various factors, including but not limited to, the combination of education, certifications, knowledge, skills, competencies, and experience, internal and external equity, location, and clearance level, as well as contract-specific affordability and organizational requirements and applicable employment laws. The projected compensation range for this position is provided within the posting and are based on full time status. Part time staff receive a prorated salary based on regularly scheduled hours. The estimated minimum and maximum displayed represents the broadest range for this position (inclusive of high geographic and high clearance requirements), and is just one component of Noblis’ total compensation package for employees.


 

Posted Salary Range

USD $74,500.00 - USD $116,425.00 /Yr.
