Responsibilities

We are seeking a skilled Zero Trust Security Engineer to provide technical evaluations, business case development, design recommendations, and reference architecture guidance as part of a comprehensive Zero Trust program. You will assess and select cloud-oriented solutions that align with the Zero Trust model which may include key management systems, micro-segmentation technologies, and software testing platforms.  You will ensure that chosen technologies are compatible and can be integrated effectively.  This role is essential in transforming security posture by ensuring that all components work together seamlessly to enforce the principles of Zero Trust and improve zero trust maturity.  You will support development of application integration strategies aligned with the organization's Zero Trust security framework and principles.

This exciting role requires an appetite for learning, the ability to meet deadlines, great organizational skills, and the ability to work in a highly collaborative team environment. You will possess the ability to complete complex tasks and projects quickly, independently complete routine work, react with appropriate urgency to situations that require a quick turnaround, and take effective ction without knowing the total picture. 
You are responsible for leading individual projects, people, or technical/functional solutions, leveraging capabilities and sharing and seeking knowledge and information across the organization. You understand the current and emerging client space and evaluate and apply practical and innovative concepts and methodologies to solve difficult problems. As a part of the Noblis team, you make recommendations to improve standard practices, procedures and tools. You employ advanced skills and grow project deliverables, as well as your expertise.

Responsibilites include:

  • Provide expert knowledge for the evaluation, testing, and deployment of Zero Trust architecture solutions and designs to improve zero trust maturity
  • Collaborate with IT solution teams to integrate Zero Trust capabilities and solutions that improve agency security posture
  • As a key member of the technical team, translate business and cyber security related requirements into zero trust specifications
  • Demonstrate expertise in the development of Zero Trust architecture designs to optimize all aspects of cybersecurity
  • Enable the success of application operations as new Zero Trust based security frameworks are adopted
  • Drive alignment to, and adoption of, industry leading technologies and standards

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in IT/cybersecurity, computer science or related field
  • 9+ years of experience in cybersecurity, including 3+ years of experience with public cloud
  • Experience working with zero trust security architecture, including frameworks, components, technical solutions, and principles
  • Knowledge of relevant industry security standards, including NIST SP 800-207, NIST SP 800-37, NIST SP 800-53
  • Ability to develop security architecture based on best practices and industry standards
  • Familiar with the management, operational, and technical aspects of IT Security in a complex enterprise environment. Additional experience in cyber risk management and assessments will be considered.
  • Ability to translate technical requirements into business solutions including experience analyzing current state quantitative and qualitative data, summarizing findings, developing conclusions, and making strategic recommendations
  • Demonstrated leadership experience and ability to adapt, with willingness to readily take ownership of tasks and problems, which often extend beyond initial scope of responsibility
  • Ability to keep abreast with latest security technologies, the current threat landscape, and evolving Federal security policies.
  • Experience with cloud security practices including cloud-based and cloud-native security tools.
  • Track record of building collaborative relationships across many groups
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain an active Public Trust clearance

Desired Qualifications

  • Security-related certification such as CCSP, CISSP, or other relevant
  • Zero Trust technical certification offered by commercial ZTA/SASE vendors
  • Prior experience working in a federal government environment
  • Prior experience evaluating and pilot testing cybersecurity technologies

Salary at Noblis is determined by various factors, including but not limited to, the combination of education, certifications, knowledge, skills, competencies, and experience, internal and external equity, location, and clearance level, as well as contract-specific affordability and organizational requirements and applicable employment laws. The projected compensation range for this position is provided within the posting and are based on full time status. Part time staff receive a prorated salary based on regularly scheduled hours. The estimated minimum and maximum displayed represents the broadest range for this position (inclusive of high geographic and high clearance requirements), and is just one component of Noblis’ total compensation package for employees.


 

Posted Salary Range

USD $99,100.00 - USD $154,825.00 /Yr.
