Noblis MSD scientists, engineers, technical staff, analysts, and program managers identify and deploy secure shipboard technologies, integrate information technology across shipboard platforms and shipboard systems, and develop computing and networking strategies to support the Warfighter.  Noblis MSD employees create strategic solutions to help customers reach new levels of mission support and transform their organizations.


Noblis MSD is seeking a systems engineer with experience in PMW 160 systems including CANES, SCI-Networks, and Secret-Releasable to provide engineering design support.  This position requires demonstrated experience in Servers, Storage, Virtualization, Software and Networking technologies.  You will be required to support existing teams in developing, modifying or reviewing current systems designs to meet new requirements. You will develop or update technical documentation and design briefings. 


Responsibilities include working directly with senior level government engineers and managers, functional teams, and other contractors in the execution of networking designs and integration.  You will participate in laboratory deck installation, loadout, and test events. Installation assistance and minor travel may be required.  You will develop test cases, test reports, and provide troubleshooting assistance.  You will update and create engineering documents and review installation documentation.



  • Bachelor’s degree, OR an associate's degree plus three years of relevant experience, OR six years relevant experience
  • 2 years of recent US Naval support experience as part of the above requirement
  • Secret Clearance
  • Current IA Certificate: (one) CompTIA Security+, CISSP,  GSLC, GSEC, CND
  • Current operating system certification or training such as CCNA, Microsoft Server 2016 (configuration and administration), LINUX+, VCP
  • Systems engineering experience supporting the Navy
  • Must have demonstrable experience in designing and upgrading servers, storage, network infrastructure and virtualized networks.
  • Minimum of 2 years’ experience working on CANES in development, integration, and sustainment work
  • Minimum of 2 years experience working with the McAfee Host Based Security Systems (HBSS) and ePolicy Orchestrator (ePO)
  • Minimum of 2 years experience working with the review, updating, application/integration, testing, and troubleshooting of CANES Engineering Change Requests (ECRs)
  • Minimum of 2 years experience working with CANES SW2.x through SW4.x baselines
  • Minimum of 2 years experience working with CISCO routing and switching hardware and software
  • Minimum of 2 years experience working with the review, modifying, and creating CANES drawings and artifacts (example: rack elevations, topologies, cable tables, HW BOM, SW BOM, CRA, etc.)
  • Experience with PowerShell scripts
  • Proficiency in engineering processes


Desired skills and knowledge:

  • Ability to review CANES ECR documentation, install ECRs into a CANES system, test systems, and create documentation for Ships Force if there are any redlines/deviations to the ECRs
  • Ability to obtain an CSWF certification at the appropriate IAT Level I / II / III level within six (6) months of start work on a project
  • Ability to review CANES Microsoft PowerShell scripts and modify as necessary

Salary at Noblis is determined by various factors, including but not limited to, the combination of education, certifications, knowledge, skills, competencies, and experience, internal and external equity, location, and clearance level, as well as contract-specific affordability and organizational requirements and applicable employment laws. The projected compensation range for this position is provided within the posting and are based on full time status. Part time staff receive a prorated salary based on regularly scheduled hours. The estimated minimum and maximum displayed represents the broadest range for this position (inclusive of high geographic and high clearance requirements), and is just one component of Noblis’ total compensation package for employees.
