Noblis MSD’s mission is to support the Naval Sea Systems Command (NAVSEA) and, Naval Surface Warfare Center (NSWCPD) and their missions’ to enable research, development, test and evaluation, acquisition, engineering, systems integration, in-service and fleet engineering with cybersecurity, comprehensive logistics, and life-cycle savings. Actively recruiting for a Power Systems Engineer who will support a Navy contract in Philadelphia, PA.
The Power Systems Engineer will provide engineering, technical, and integrated logistics services on electrical power and propulsion systems and equipment associated with in-service and new construction ships, aircraft carriers, submarine platforms, and unmanned underwater vehicles. Supported ship classes include, but not limited to, CVN 68, CVN 78, SSN 21, SSN 688, SSN 774, SSBN 726, SSBN 826 and unmanned submersible vehicles. Major areas of responsibility include aircraft carrier and submarine electrical power and propulsion power generation, distribution, conversion, protection and control systems, component design and test support for newly developed and fielded electric propulsion systems (electric motors and motor drives), and arc fault detection and thermal imaging. For all these platforms, there is an emphasis on the need to develop and sustain technical competencies associated with Medium Voltage (>1000 Volts) shipboard electrical systems and their applicable electrical insulation systems.
Bachelor's degree in Engineering from an accredited college or university.
Five (5) years’ experience with the operation, maintenance, logistical support and/or testing of electrical systems.
DoD Secret Clearance required.
The following experience is a Plus: Experience with aircraft electrical power systems such as 400Hz, 270VDC and 28VDC power conversion equipment, aircraft electrical starting systems, and aircraft electrical power interface standards. Work experience specific to CVN and Submarine platforms.
Shipboard experience as an operator / maintainer is a plus, but not a requirement.

Salary at Noblis is determined by various factors, including but not limited to, the combination of education, certifications, knowledge, skills, competencies, and experience, internal and external equity, location, and clearance level, as well as contract-specific affordability and organizational requirements and applicable employment laws. The projected compensation range for this position is provided within the posting and are based on full time status. Part time staff receive a prorated salary based on regularly scheduled hours. The estimated minimum and maximum displayed represents the broadest range for this position (inclusive of high geographic and high clearance requirements), and is just one component of Noblis’ total compensation package for employees.
