Noblis is looking for a Machine Learning Research Scientist to join our artificial intelligence and advanced analytics research portfolio. You will be exposed to and help build cutting-edge tools and services that address high-consequence problems using advanced technology like computer vision, natural language processing, and machine learning. Qualified applicants should have a strong machine learning background, excellent coding skills, and a degree in computer science or a related field.



Job Responsibilities:

  • Collecting, cultivating, and managing large data sets in distributed environments
  • Develop and train deep learning models for machine assisted content generation, pattern recognition and computer vision applications
  • Testing and evaluation of deep learning models



Basic Qualifications:

  • Experience - multiple levels can be accommodated, degrees must be in a Technology, Engineering, or Computer Science (or related field)
    • Entry-level: Bachelors Degree + 0 years work experience
    • Mid-level: Bachelors Degree + (2-4) years work experience or Masters Degree + (0-2) years work experience
  • Experience in the areas of machine learning, deep learning, natural language processing, and/or computer vision
  • Intermediate Python programming
  • Understands and follows programming best practices
  • Technical skills developing data science applications using languages/libraries such as TensorFlow, Keras, PyTorch, Pandas, NumPy, Scikit-learn
  • Working knowledge of SQL
  • Hands on experience decomposing complex technology topics into visualizations and terms suitable for a variety of audience expertise levels
  • Comfort developing solutions on Linux systems
  • Complements our existing team, likes solving problems, and is comfortable with ambiguity  
  • Can self-manage, has strong self-organization skills, and is eager to contribute
  • Strives to be an excellent scientist, is eager to explore new technologies, and develop new skills

Desired Qualifications:

  • Experience working with teams across geographic bounds
  • Experience building data systems and creating data pipelines. Including tools like Spark, Hadoop, cloud storage, Hive, and Airflow 
  • Has a broad understanding of natural language processing concepts, tools, and research and has experience with applying them to real-world problems
  • Extensive experience with many of the following approaches: Deep Learning (CNNs, RCNNs, LSTMs), GANs, Autoencoders, Reinforcement Learning, Regression, SVMs, LDA
  • Experience with cloud-based model and/or container deployment technologies (e.g., AWS Sagemaker, Azure, Kubernetes, Docker)
  • Ability and desire to acquire a Top Secret  security clearance
