Noblis MSD’s mission is to support the Naval Sea Systems Command (NAVSEA) and, Naval Surface Warfare Center (NSWCPD) and their missions’ to enable research, development, test and evaluation, acquisition, engineering, systems integration, in-service and fleet engineering with cybersecurity, comprehensive logistics, and life-cycle savings.  We are looking to hire a 3-D Animator.


Noblis is looking for a 3D Animator to create engaging and realistic animations for our current and upcoming Virtual Training projects. This position requires a detail-oriented and creative individual who can leverage their technical abilities to help implement efficient systems and products. The Animator will work closely with the lead animator, 3D modeler, graphic artists, and other creative staff to create unique and engaging animations for training and virtual experiences. 
Please be ready to submit a portfolio, demo reel, or any other presentation of your professional and artistic skills to be considered for this position. 
We are looking for someone who:

  • Has strong, fundamental art skills and experience with 3D modeling tools Maya. 
  • Use Maya to animate machinery to replicate written maintenance steps and technical requirements.  
  • Ability to create hard surface 3D models using Maya. 
  • Create realistic lighting, textures, and rendering in Maya.  
  • Is able to estimate their schedule and deliver products on that schedule. 
  • Can reflect feedback within an iterative design process. 
  • Strong attention to detail. 
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, including the ability to handle constructive feedback. 
  • Must be able to create the highest quality of work and be able to make tight deadlines. 

While this will be a hybrid position candidates must be local to the Philadelphia area to be able to attend client meetings.



    • Bachelor's degree in a related field or additional direct experience 
    • 2+ years minimum experience in animation 
    • Ability to contribute innovative ideas to all aspects of the product development process 
    • Strong instincts for realistic and stylized motions 
    • Ability to balance multiple projects and tasks at a time. 
    • Communicate and coordinate with artist, programmers, and creative staff to achieve the artistic vision. 
    • Experience in: 
    • Adobe Creative Suite 
    • Autodesk Maya 
    • Microsoft Office 

    Nice to have: 

    • Illustrator asset creation 
    • Motion Graphics & Composition in Adobe After Effects 
    • Unity 
    • Unreal 
    • Knowledge in voice over and recording and video editing
