Responsibilities

Noblis MSD’s mission is to support the Naval Sea Systems Command (NAVSEA) and, Naval Surface Warfare Center (NSWCPD) and their missions to enable research, development, test and evaluation, acquisition, engineering, systems integration, in-service and fleet engineering with cybersecurity, comprehensive logistics, and life-cycle savings. Actively recruiting for a Chemical Biological Defense (CBD) Engineer will support Navy contract in Philadelphia, PA.

 

The Chemical Biological Defense (CBD) Decontamination Systems and Equipment Engineer will assist NSWCPD Code 336 (Damage Control, Recoverability & CBD Branch) in the development of design policy, equipment and system specifications and standards, logistics support, engineering support, and doctrine development for non-aviation CBD decontamination systems and equipment to include:

 

Provide engineering, technical, and program support to Decontamination Programs including, but no limited to:

 

Attendance at production and status meetings; providing remote and local in-service support to fleet units; directing on-site technical support to resolve or assist with the resolution of issues; observation and participation in equipment or system testing; and review, update, and/or develop supporting logistics documentation.


Provide configuration, testing, training support and/or assessments of Decontamination equipment and systems aboard CG, CVN, DDG, FFG, LCC, LCS, LHA, LHD, LPD, LSD, MCM, PC and other applicable ship classes.


Perform surveys and engineering investigations to evaluate maintenance procedures and manning requirements associated with Decontamination equipment and systems which support including, but not limited to: Technical Manuals (TM), Planned Maintenance System (PMS), Allowance Equipage Lists (AEL), Drawings. Identify applicable Department of Defense (DoD) and Department of Navy (DoN) source documents related to system components, maintenance, repair, upgrades, and manning requirements. Develop assessment/evaluation protocol for shipboard assessments.


Perform engineering, logistics, and program management support: for non-aviation Chemical/Biological Defense (CBD) Decontamination Systems and Equipment including, but not limited to: Collective Protection System (CPS) Decontamination Stations, Casualty Decontamination Stations, Conventional Decontamination Stations, and M26 Joint Service Transportable Decontamination System – Small Scale (JSTDS-SS), Reactive Skin Decontamination Lotion (RSDL), and M334 Decontamination Kit, Individual Equipment (DKIE).


Provide engineering support to the repair, installation, modification, operation, maintenance, and testing of U.S. Navy Decontamination equipment and systems including, but not limited to: CPS Decontamination Stations, Casualty Decontamination Stations, Conventional Decontamination Stations, and M26 JSTDS-SS.

Qualifications

 

Minimum Education: Bachelor’s degree in Electrical, Chemical, Mechanical, or Materials Engineering from an ABET accredited college or university.

 

Minimum Experience: Five (5) years’ experience as an engineer in a natural science or an equivalent related field, including eight (8) concurrent years of related experience in U.S. Navy ship systems, including mechanical/electrical system design, repair, installation, modification, operation, maintenance, and testing.


DoD Secret Clearance required.
