Responsibilities

Noblis MSD is seeking a Java Software Engineer / Java Developer to contribute to a challenging and rewarding program developing controls systems in support of the U.S. Navy.  

 

While Developers are expected to work on site we are willing to support a hybrid work schedule.

 

 

In this position you will: 

  • Develop control software for Hull, Mechanical, & Electrical (HM&E) systems aboard US Navy vessels 
  • Integrate directly with a Government team on the development, design and testing of software 
  • Read, write and debug Java code  
  • Support systems testing and validation 
  • Make recommendations for improvements and modifications to address and correct issues 
  • Participate in coding peer reviews 

Qualifications

  • BS Degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or related degree
  • Minimum of three (3) years professional experience
  • Knowledge of software development for embedded control systems or programmable logic circuits is preferred
  • Knowledge of Java and JUnit
  • Knowledge of GIT and/or Gradle
  • Knowledge of Fedora/Redhat/CentOS
  • You should posses a demonstrated understanding of object-oriented programming methodologies and software design/development processes
  • Attention to detail, especially with respect to troubleshooting and documentation of findings

Candidates should have a DoD secret clearance but we will consider clearable candidates.
