Responsibilities

 

Noblis MSD’s mission is to support the Naval Sea Systems Command (NAVSEA) and, Naval Surface Warfare Center (NSWCPD) and their missions’ to enable research, development, test and evaluation, acquisition, engineering, systems integration, in-service and fleet engineering with cybersecurity, comprehensive logistics, and life-cycle savings.

 

Noblis MSD is seeking to hire a Controls Engineer who will provide engineering, troubleshooting and problem solving advice pertaining to Navy air compressor control systems and the Navy Common Core Controller (NC3).

 

  • Provide engineering services to support NSWCPD Code 418, Compressed Air Systems In-Service Engineering Agent (ISEA). Anticipated tasking includes:
    • Development of ship change documents (SCDs) summarizing proposed alterations to systems/equipment to facilitate installation
    • Review and update Drawings, Technical Manuals and Parts lists
    • Troubleshoot Navy compressor operational issues through distance, on site and shipboard support. Determine root cause and develop a corrective course of action to return system/equipment to normal operations.
    • Assist ship’s force in identifying and acquiring a suitable replacement equipment when older equipment is obsolete and unavailable in order to return the affected compressed air systems to normal operation.
    • Assist with fleet technical feedback reports through the Remedy database. Outline the specific issues and necessary support required in order to restore systems/equipment to normal operational order.
  • Assist On Site Installation Coordinator (OSIC) and Alteration Installation Teams (AITs) in the installation and troubleshooting of the NC3 on Navy ships for Low Pressure Air Compressors (LPAC), High Pressure Air Compressors (HPAC) and Weapons System High Pressure Air Compressor (WSHPAC).
  • Attend Code 418 technical team meetings and provide engineering input pertaining to the NC3 and Navy air compressors and compressed air systems.
  • Assist Code 418 personnel in preparing new NC3s for installation by installing NC3 Software on the PLC and HMI touchscreen. This task will be accomplished at NSWCPD.
  • Assist government personnel in development of software delivery letters, the Systems Engineering Process (SEP), Quality Assurance Workbooks (QAWB), and ILS updates and other related tasking to support compressor control systems.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in any engineering discipline from an accredited college or university.

Three (3) years of professional experience in engineering.

DoD Secret Clearance or ability to attain one is required

 

Desired Skills and Knowledge:

The three (3) years of experience should include Navy Compressed air systems and Navy compressed air system controllers, including mechanical system design, repair, installation, modification, operation, maintenance, and testing of Navy equipment or systems.
