Electrical Engineer

Noblis MSD’s mission is to support the Naval Sea Systems Command (NAVSEA) and Naval Surface Warfare Center (NSWCPD) in their missions to enable research, development, test and evaluation, acquisition, engineering, systems integration, in-service and fleet engineering with cybersecurity, comprehensive logistics, and life-cycle savings. Noblis MSD is seeking an Electrical Engineer to support U.S. Navy Hull, Mechanical, and Electrical (HM&E) programs. You will provide engineering and technical assistance support to the Naval Surface Warfare Center in Philadelphia, PA.

 

The Electrical Engineer will support Navy Electrical Power Systems programs. The candidate's roles and responsibilities will include:

• Provide Land Based Engineering Site (LBES) support for inspecting, testing, troubleshooting, and repair of DDG 51 Class electrical hardware and software. Duties include configuring equipment, reviewing procedures and test plans, performing computer based testing and simulation, hot plant testing, and hardware prototyping to support system testing and fleet mtechnical support validation efforts.
• Provide support inspection, testing, troubleshooting, and repair of electrical power distribution, generation, protection and monitoring/control systems onboard DDG 51 class hulls.
• Review performance specifications, requirements, component drawings, and installation drawings for DDG 51 Class electrical
  power generation, distribution, protection, and monitoring systems.
• Support System Operational and Verification Testing (SOVT) during ship availabilities, or any time a modification is made to electrical power generation, distribution, or protection systems onboard DDG 51 Class hulls, in order to validate full system performance and operation.
• Assist in the performance of procedures for testing and checkout of installed systems, including system circuit tests and system operability tests.
• Provide support to resolve regular and emergent DDG 51 Class shipboard electrical system/equipment issues. Duties may include replication of the issue(s) in a land-based test facility and validating potential resolutions. 
• Review performance specifications, requirements, component drawings, and installation drawings for DDG 51 Class electrical power generation, distribution, protection, and monitoring systems.

The Electrical Engineer will have:

• Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering from an accredited College or University
• Two years’ experience providing support for U.S. Navy electrical generation, electrical distribution
• Secret Clearance or the ability to obtain a secret clearance required

Desired skills and knowledge:

• Experience in the operation, maintenance, testing and repair of HM&E equipment installed on U.S. Navy surface ships or submarines
• Ability to interpret/analyze technical data and schematics.
• Excellent communications skills a must
• Ability to interact with multiple navy activities and effectively communicate technical information with all levels of personnel both military and civilian

· Participate in the proposal process by providing input to proposal writers.
