Non-Destructive Testing Engineer

Noblis MSD’s mission is to support the Naval Sea Systems Command (NAVSEA) and, Naval Surface Warfare Center (NSWCPD) and their missions’ to enable research, development, test and evaluation, acquisition, engineering, systems integration, in-service and fleet engineering with cybersecurity, comprehensive logistics, and life-cycle savings.  Noblis MSD is looking to hire a Non-Distructive Test Engineer.

 

Noblis MSD is seeking an NDT Engineer.  The following are possible experience and responsibilities in the position:

 

Experience in the conduct of Non-Destructive Evaluation (NDE) and Non-Destructive Testing (NDT) techniques to include Visual Testing (VT), Dye Penetrant Testing (PT), Ultrasonic Testing (UT), Magnetic Particle Testing (Wet and Dry Methods), Radiographic Testing (RT), and Eddy Current Inspection (ECI). Experience in preparing or approving Departure from Specifications (DFS), engineering senior management of Ship Change Documents (SCD) and Ship Selected Record (SSRDs) development for shipboard structure and systems is preferred.

• Develop and implement nondestructive inspection techniques, methods, and procedures.
• Evaluate NDT requirements and specifications
• Provide technical recommendations for inspection development
• Assist in development of NDT training program
• Act as Test Examiner for PT, MT, RT, UT, and/or VT inspections
• Perform and/or coordinate field inspections 

 

• Bachelor’s and minimum 5 years of related experience, or Master’s and 3 years related experience, or Doctorate and 1 year related experience; or equivalent experience 

Desired skills and knowledge:

• NDT Level III Certifaction 
  • An ASNT NDT Level III shall also have general familiarity with other nondestructive testing methods, shall be capable of conducting or directing the training and examination of testing personnel in the methods for which the ASNT Level III is qualified and shall have knowledge of materials, fabrication, and product technology in order to establish techniques and to assist in establishing acceptance criteria when none are otherwise available.
• PMP Certifaction a plus

• Begin developing relationships one level up and two levels down. Identify and support opportunities to expand project scope beyond current deliverable and actively share information about clients’ emerging support needs and trends with team members and management.
· Participate on proposals

Salary at Noblis is determined by various factors, including but not limited to, the combination of education, certifications, knowledge, skills, competencies, and experience, internal and external equity, location, and clearance level, as well as contract-specific affordability and organizational requirements and applicable employment laws. The projected compensation range for this position is provided within the posting and are based on full time status. Part time staff receive a prorated salary based on regularly scheduled hours. The estimated minimum and maximum displayed represents the broadest range for this position (inclusive of high geographic and high clearance requirements), and is just one component of Noblis’ total compensation package for employees.
