Responsibilities

 

Noblis provides advanced maintenance and monitoring solutions for Navy Combat Systems.  This exciting work is headquartered in Fort Washington, PA. We also have a production facility in Largo, FL, and a customer support office in Ventura, CA.  We have a multi-disciplinary team of systems engineers, mechanical engineers, electrical engineers, and software engineers as well as production and support staff to develop new products and support existing product lines.

 

 

Noblis is seeking a well-rounded software engineer to mentor and collaborate with a small team of other software engineers in the full development life cycle of our advanced system monitoring solutions. Your primary responsibility will be participating in the development of our software products, starting with our next generation Condition-Based Maintenance analysis software.  This will involve full life cycle activities from requirements through design, development, test, and maintenance.  Responsibilities include:

  • Designing, developing, and testing software
  • Performing code reviews
  • Troubleshooting customer-reported issues
  • Facilitating team member collaboration
  • Providing guidance to other engineers
  • Estimating schedules and helping to task other team members
  • Creating and contributing to technical documentation
  • Occasional travel for testing, installation, or troubleshooting software at customer sites

This position will be a combination of in-office work and work-from-home based on client needs and work requirements.

Qualifications

Qualifications

  • Software Application design / Software Architect experience
  • Very knowledgeable in Object Oriented Programming & Design (Java, C++, or C#)
  • Strong debugging / troubleshooting skills
  • Configuration Management Experience (e.g., Git, SVN)
  • Some SQL Database Experience
  • Some Linux OS Experience
  • Excellent communication and documentation skills
  • U.S. Citizen with possession of, or ability to obtain, DoD security clearance

Preferred Skills:

  • Mentorship and/or leadership experience
  • Development experience with both Linux and Windows
  • Unit Testing / Automated Testing
  • Project estimating and scheduling experience 
  • Web development experience not required, but is a plus
    • e.g., Angular, REST APIs, Java Servlets, Tomcat, ASP.NET, IIS

Required Experience

  • 4-year degree: Computer Science, Software Engineering, Computer Engineering or equivalent
  • 8+ years of professional experience
