Noblis MSD Fleet Introduction Project provides Pre-Commissioning (PRECOM) support to ship's Prospective Commanding Officer, Executive Officer and Department Heads for administrative and technical services.  Fleet Introduction work is performed in an integrated support team environment that includes government and Noblis MSD teams that work closely with Program Executive Office (PEO) Ships, Supervisor of Shipbuilding (SUPSHIP), Shipbuilder and the ship's crewmembers. 


Candidate will provide Deck Operations and Aviation Support as follows:

  • Coordination and assistance with SUPSHIP, Ships force, PEO, and Surface Force (SURFOR) in fleet requirements not reflected in build requirements. This will require in-depth knowledge of build contract, ship specifications, and all fleet requirements.
  • DECK Operations Support includes; Limited Training Teams (LTTs), Crew Certification (CREWCERT) events, Afloat Training Group (ATG) and Immediate Superior in Charge (ISIC) visit coordination for work with the crew in regards to any waterfront requirements (before and after move aboard).
  • Provide ship checks as requested by PEO, ATG, and Ships Force.
  • Assist with administrative program reviews and implementation IAW ATG Afloat Self-Assessment (ASA) check sheets.
  • Assist deck department with equipment inventory and validation as requested.
  • Assistance with ship deck stations configuration and verification through specifications and drawings.
  • Ability to apply general knowledge and perform research in support of deck ships force requirements.
  • Assist with aviation support as requested.
  • Assistance may be required for all ship force departments.


Required Skills:

  • 6+ years of work experience on Destroyers (DDG), amphibious Landing Platform Dock (LPD) and/or the amphibious Landing Helicopter Assault (LHA) naval platforms.
  • Must be able to physically maneuver on board US Navy ships including accessing high and confined spaces and lift up to 50 pounds.
  • Candidate will need to organize tasks and services and be able to work with competing priorities.
  • Experience with the MS Office suite of software, including Outlook, Word, Excel and Access.
  • Effective written and oral communication skills are essential in this team orientated-customer service position.
  • Must be able to obtain a Secret clearance.


Required Experience:

  • Must have experience in DECK operations and knowledgeable of US Navy operating, certification, training and administrative procedures; senior enlisted DECK personnel with Search and Rescue, Small Boat Operations and Ship Aviation Facility experience, U.S. Navy Boatswain’s Mate (BM) or Aviation Boatswain’s Mate (AB) rating is a plus.
  • Understanding of ship building contracts, build specifications and contract deliverable requirements. Understanding of drawings and blueprints to support ships force.
