Noblis MSD is seeking a systems engineer to join the Application Integration Assessment Engineering team. Position requires independent as well as team support in the engineering analysis of hosted applications and connected systems into the CANES baseline. Experience with PEO C4I Tactical Networks (CANES, ISNS, SCI-N, CETRIXS-M, SubLAN) is desirable to evaluate the application requirements. You will be responsible for the review and analysis of the technical requirements of these applications to support development of integration solutions for them on various network baselines and platforms.
Participate in research related to the architecture, design, and implementation of complex Server-hosted, Workstation-hosted, and Connected Systems, to better understand their technical requirements for successful integration of their software and hardware components with IT-21 Tactical Networks (CANES, ISNS, SCI-N, CENTRIXS-M, ADNS).
Preferred candidate will have familiarity with software including Linux, Windows, VMWare, Redhat, CoreOS and virtual environment, Ansible, and Software Defined Networking
Preferred candidate will have familiarity with hardware including desktop and laptop computers, repository servers, data centers, routers, switches, inline encryptors, wireless and radio frequency communication, and modems.
Responsibilities include development of feasibility assessments regarding the technical viability of applications planning to field on multiple networks and related baselines by investigating, analyzing, and documenting network integration requirements for each application across the applicable networks
Bachelors’ Degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, and/or Electrical Engineering from an accredited university, plus 2 years of related experience, or equivalent experience with technical certifications
(Equivalent experience to a bachelor’s degree is High School plus 6 years or an Associate's Degree plus 4 years)
Knowledge in Information Technology (IT), computer system infrastructure, data communication and network system, Transmission Control Protocol/Internet Protocol (TCP/IP), Open Systems Interconnection (OSI) model, and routing protocols
Possess knowledge of computing and network equipment and functions
Technical risk analysis skills
Familiarity with requirements management and analysis
DoD Secret clearance
Very good written and verbal communication, along with effective time and project management skills
2 years minimum technical experience in DoD data transport network system or Wide Area Networks
2 years minimum of designing DoD data communication and network architecture and design
Experience in reviewing engineering documents and drawings
Familiarity with the PEO C4I and/or additional PEO organizational landscapes and understanding of related PMWs, PMSs, IWSs and cross organizational relationships
High-level understanding of the different phases of DoD system design, development, and acquisition
