Responsibilities

The Corrosion Control Planner works on processes and products associated with the development and implementation of corrosion control maintenance strategies, research and analysis of corrosion control maintenance data, Surface Ship tank planning reports, and evaluation of task assessment results.  The SME monitors performance measurements by project and tasking and promotes continuous quality improvement.  This position is in Pearl Harbor, HI.

This position requires a thorough understanding of the U. S. Navy surface ship maintenance and modernization end to end process, the JFMM planning process requirements, and the NAVSEA Corrosion Control Assessment and Maintenance Manual. Position requires a working level knowledge of the Corrosion Control Information Management System, NMD, and the VSB and M&SWP automated information systems.

 

Routine duties include:

  • Interface with senior military/civilian management personnel.
  • Compose correspondence, create spreadsheets, and manage databases, as needed.
  • Perform technical reviews of Fleet feedback on corrosion issues and maintenance.
  • Perform adhoc research for the Client to incorporate new technology and modeling into existing maintenance strategies.

Qualifications

 

Required minimum skills and knowledge:

  • Bachelors or Associates preferred. Minimum high school degree/GED and 9 years of relevant experience.
  • 5 or more years of experience with Navy corrosion maintenance planning and/or execution.
  • Must have high proficiency with MS Office as well as web-based applications and databases.
  • Must be able to work independently and respond to short notice tasking.
  • Must be able to present information to large audiences in a clear and concise. manner and be able to facilitate effective meetings between multiple corrosion maintenance stakeholders.
  • Must have a DOD Security Clearance of SECRET or higher.

Desired skills and knowledge:

  • 5 or more years drafting, routing and filing Navy Correspondence.
  • Eligible to travel.
  • Past experience in Navy Corrosion Research.
