Responsibilities

The Navy Corrosion Training Specialist is an expert in Navy corrosion programs tools and databases, is proficient in maintenance practices and strategies, and provides related training to Navy personnel in accordance with established curriculum.  This Training Specialist will serve as the Lead Instructor and Subject Matter Expert for the Navy’s Surface Maintenance Personnel and will deliver specific courses IAW developed curricula, as assigned. The Training Specialist is expected to adapt instructional strategies to meet student needs using a variety of instructional strategies to meet different learning styles.  Routine duties include:

  • Review and provide recommendations to existing training curriculum.
  • Document and maintain fastidious training records in personal and public medium detailing course frequency, duration, attendance and performance.
  • Participate in subject matter expert working groups and conferences to keep the Client updated with the most recent technical information.
  • Perform adhoc research for the Client to incorporate new technology and modeling into existing training strategies.

Qualifications

Required Minimum Skills and Knowledge:

 

  • Minimum 10 years’ experience with Navy Surface Ship Repair and Modernization
  • Minimum 10 years' experience with Navy Regional Maintenance Center Project Teams
  • Minimum of 5 years’ experience delivering classroom instruction.
  • Minimum 10 years’ in-depth experience in reviewing, scheduling and executing various corrosion maintenance tasks and strategies, including:
    • Determining Aluminum Degree of Sensitivity
    • Class IV Laser Operations
    • NACE SCAT Technician Composite Patches
    • Containment Blast Systems
    • Asbestos Testing and Removal
  •  Minimum 10 years’ experience with:
    • Joint Fleet Maintenance Manual (JFMM)
    • Navy Maintenance Database (NMD)
    • NAVSEA Standard Items (NSI)

Desired skills and knowledge:

  • Proficiency with MS Office as well as web-based applications and databases.
  • Ability to work independently and respond to short notice tasking.
  • Ability to present information to large audiences in a clear and concise manner and using a variety of instructional strategies to meet different learning styles
  • Bachelors degree preferred

Salary at Noblis is determined by various factors, including but not limited to, the combination of education, certifications, knowledge, skills, competencies, and experience, internal and external equity, location, and clearance level, as well as contract-specific affordability and organizational requirements and applicable employment laws. The projected compensation range for this position is provided within the posting and are based on full time status. Part time staff receive a prorated salary based on regularly scheduled hours. The estimated minimum and maximum displayed represents the broadest range for this position (inclusive of high geographic and high clearance requirements), and is just one component of Noblis’ total compensation package for employees.
