Responsibilities

Noblis MSD’s mission is to support the Naval Sea Systems Command (NAVSEA) and, Naval Surface Warfare Center (NSWCPD) and their missions’ to enable research, development, test and evaluation, acquisition, engineering, systems integration, in-service and fleet engineering with cybersecurity, comprehensive logistics, and life-cycle savings.  Noblis MSD is looking to hire a Systems Administrator to support the US Navy out of the Philadelphia Navy Yard.

 

Noblis MSD is seeking a Systems Adminstrator to provide support for U.S. Navy IT systems and server environments. The candidate's roles and responsibilities include:

  • Maintenance and configuration of computer systems, network servers, and virtual environments.
  • Installation and upgrade for hardware components and software, managing virtual servers, and integration of automation processes.
  • Responsible for configuring systems, system troubleshooting, and software installation.
  • Provide technical documentation for planning and implementing new or upgrades of IT infrastructure.
  • Perform regular backup operations and implement appropriate processes for data protection, disaster recovery, and failover procedures.
  • Performing routine audits of systems and software.
  • Installation of security patches, remediation of vulnerabilities, and reporting of patch compliance.
  • Responsible for capacity, storage planning, and database performance.
  • Provide desktop support to a number of Windows 10 workstations.
  • Ensure IT systems meet security requirements with patch installations and configuration changes.
  • Perform system administration functions on systems that operate on Red Hat Enterprise Linux.

 

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or an Information Technology related field.

One of the following certification: Security+, CYSA+, or GSEC is required. 

Windows and/or Linux Operating System training certification preferred.

3+ years of professional experience within a Systems Administration role or related IT function.

Proficiency with virtualization technologies including VMWare and Microsoft Hyper-V.

Experience with Red Hat Enterprise Linux.

Experience with Windows 10 workstations.

Experience with scripting and automation tools including Powershell.

Demonstrated experience implementing IT solutions, to include security, storage, data protection, and disaster recovery.

Candidate shall have a DoD Secret clearance, or the ability to obtain one.
