Noblis MSD’s mission is to support the Naval Sea Systems Command (NAVSEA) and, Naval Surface Warfare Center (NSWCPD) and their missions’ to enable research, development, test and evaluation, acquisition, engineering, systems integration, in-service and fleet engineering with cybersecurity, comprehensive logistics, and life-cycle savings.  We are looking to hire a Engineering Representative to support our Navy clients out of Virginia Beach, VA.


Noblis MSD is seeking a Waterfront Engineering Technician (electrical focused) with Navy ship systems knowledge to support U.S. Navy new acquisition and in-service ship engineering programs in the Norfolk, VA area. The candidate's roles and responsibilities include:

  • Leverage Navy ship systems knowledge to provide practical engineering support for the test, integration, maintenance, operation, and repair of shipboard electrical and control systems.
  • Perform testing and troubleshooting for shipboard Engineering Control Systems (ECS), to include Programmable Logic Controllers (PLCs) and/or Versa Module Euro (VME) based-control systems.
  • Troubleshoot complex integration and operational issues between the ECS system and interfacing auxiliary, propulsion, and electrical systems.
  • Conduct machinery and systems inspections and certifications when required and provide system reports (including deficiencies and recommendations) to Navy program representatives.
  • Perform system and equipment operability tests.
  • Identify and resolve technical faults and provide technical solutions for the repair or replacement of faulted components.
  • Generate detailed technical reports that describe testing performed, troubleshooting steps, and technical findings/recommendations.
  • Provide quality assurance inspections and installation tracking of components as required.
  • Conduct system training for the Fleet on the operation and maintenance of systems.
  • Provide shipyard integration and test support during the commissioning phase of the shipbuilding process.
  • Review and develop technical documentation (engineering drawings/diagrams, technical manuals, procedures) related to all variants of deployed systems and systems in the development phase, and provide technical input as required.
  • Develop and execute test procedures to exercise requirements of fielded systems and future fielded systems.
  • Act as an in-service engineering agent (ISEA) team member for fielded system deployment, testing, troubleshooting, and repair.





  • HS Diploma and 6+ years of professional experience in a technical field.
  • Prior Navy shipboard experience and training, specifically for electrical-based systems, preferred.
  • Prior experience with industrial control systems a plus (PLCs, VME, etc.).
  • Ability to read and interpret engineering documentation such as drawings, diagrams, technical manuals, and procedures.
  • Ability to perform technical work with minimal oversight required.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
