Responsibilities

Noblis is seeking a Senior Instructional Designer with an active Top Secret/SCI with Polygraph in Reston, VA.

 

  • As a Senior Instructional Systems Designer at Noblis, you'll work with subject matter experts, scientists, and clients to capture learning requirements and recommend solutions to advance their mission effectiveness. Leveraging learner-centric principles to design the experience, you'll design synchronous and asynchronous material, and performance support tools that most effectively improve performance while minimizing impact to time away from mission for learners. Building from ADDIE and SAM models, your expertise and creativity will result in new ideas to develop engaging and interactive learning experiences. Your expert communication skills will be critical as you meet regularly with stakeholders to solicit ideas, gather information, ideate on innovative delivery techniques, and incorporate collected feedback throughout the development process. To ensure learning solutions delivered are meaningful and meeting expectations, you will collect and analyze results using various evaluation methodologies, such as the Kirkpatrick Model, then assess and implement adjustments to learning solutions to maximize continuous improvement. At Noblis, you will gain exposure to industry leading expertise and subject matter that is transforming the tradecraft and overall mission effectiveness for our Intelligence Community (IC) clients.

 

The Senior ISD will be responsible for supporting the client(s) and assisting with all aspects of adult learning and training to include, but not limited to the support of learning requirements; development and maintenance of web-based and/or instructor led courses; instruction and/or facilitation; registration support; classroom management and scheduling; post-training evaluation collection and analysis; and the delivery and implementation of courses.

 

The Senior ISD will perform work independently but will be expected to collaborate with both team members and subject matter experts (SME). Noblis is seeking a creative thinker who is detail-oriented, project focused, and has the proven expertise to make learning meaningful and applicable for students. The ideal candidate will have diverse experience within the L&D field and can easily adapt to different L&D expectations and requirements.

Qualifications

Required Qualifications:

  • MS/MA in Instructional Design, Education, Communications, or related field: a Bachelor's in the same field can be substituted for the MS/MA if accompanied by 10+ years of Professional Instructional Design work.
  • Understanding of Intelligence Community operations and culture, with 10 or more years working in the IC
  • Experience working with subject matter experts and clients
  • Experience conducting detailed training and/or job/task analyse
  • Experience on a team of instructional designers, graphic artists, and programmers in a client-focused consulting environment
  • Experience developing learning solutions for Intelligence Community agencies
  • Experience delivering or facilitating in-person training
  • Experience developing both soft skill and technical training
  • Experience designing instructor-led, online courses, mobile learning, micro-learning, and/or blended solutions
  • Experience building and managing multiple courses within a given curriculum
  • Experience designing products that are Section 508 compliant
  • Experience designing and developing SCORM-conformant content
  • Experience and working knowledge of at least one rapid development tool (e.g., Presenter, Captivate, Articulate)
  • Experience building instructional design-related documents (e.g., Needs Analysis Reports; Course Design Documents; Lesson Plans; Storyboards; Course Evaluations; After Action Reports; and others, as needed)
  • Experience building long term relationships with customers
  • Ability to collaborate with team members and client(s) as well as perform all tasks independently
  • Ability to apply adult learning principles and instructional design methodology in an operational environment. S/he will thrive in a fast-paced environment
  • Ideate training plans and course requests that capture the “big picture” in terms of developing plans of study
  • Excellent consultation, organizational, interpersonal, and collaboration skills
  • Subject matter expertise as it pertains to excellence in training.
  • Assist with conducting assessment, surveys, and focus groups.
  • Ability to create and distribute post-training surveys and evaluations.
  • Ability to manage complex relationships with stakeholders in an environment with short deadlines and high business impact.

 

Skills:

  • Microsoft Office; SharePoint; and collaboration platforms, such as Teams, Skype, and Webex
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making capabilities
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Demonstrated ability to manage and prioritize multiple projects in an environment of rapid change, working flexible schedules, as needed
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office
  • Excellent facilitation and communication skills (both oral and written)

Desired Qualifications:

  • Multimedia experience
  • Experience in Project Management
  • Ability to develop productive working relationships with all levels of internal staff, outside clients, and partners
  • Ability to build expertise within a given domain or subject matter
  • Experience working with virtual learning environments and facilitating live virtual events
  • Familiarity with Analysis, Design, Development, Implementation, and Evaluation (ADDIE) development process; Bloom’s Taxonomy; and Kirkpatrick’s Levels of Evaluation
  • Experience with a rapid development tool (e.g., Camtasia, Captivate, Articulate, Lectora)

Client Engagement

· Support and lead evolving business development efforts by applying technical and functional expertise to develop business solutions.
· Lead proposal sections for small or limited competition proposals and actively participate in teaming strategy discussions
