Responsibilities

 

Noblis MSD’s mission is to support the Naval Sea Systems Command (NAVSEA) and Naval Surface Warfare Center (NSWCPD) in their missions to enable research, development, test and evaluation, acquisition, engineering, systems integration, in-service and fleet engineering with cybersecurity, comprehensive logistics, and life-cycle savings.  Noblis MSD is seeking a Systems Administrator to support U.S. Navy Submarine Hull, Mechanical, and Electrical (HM&E) programs.  You will provide engineering and technical assistance support in the Philadelphia Navy Yard.

 

The Systems Administrator will provide Information Technology and Cybersecurity support to U.S. Navy Research and Development (R&D) test laboratories. The candidate's responsibilities may include:

 

Provide technical services in support of delivering cyber-secure systems and solutions including the development and submittal of Risk Management Framework (RMF) risk assessments, implementation of DoD secure system configuration and hardening requirements identified in Defense Information Systems Agency (DISA) Security Technical Implementation Guides (STIGs) and Security Requirements Guides (SRGs), Assured Compliance Assessment Solution (ACAS) vulnerability assessments, Anti-Virus (AV) scanning, System Engineering Process (SEP) artifacts, and other supporting documentation required for certifying and maintaining or developing afloat, RDT&E, and/or enterprise platforms.

 

Provide laboratory system administration support, which includes the following: installation, configuration, integration, patching, user registration, file backups, troubleshooting and problem resolution for client workstations, servers, hypervisors, database servers, Storage Area Networks, and other related IT systems and operational applications.

  • Support configuration change documentation and control processes and maintaining DOD STIG Compliance. Installation of security patches on servers, remediation of vulnerabilities and reporting of patch compliance. Advise on security patches and remediation.
  • Integrate automated capabilities for updating or patching system software where practical, and develop processes and procedures for manual system software updating and patching using current and projected patch timeline requirements for the system’s operational environment.
  • Performing routine audits of systems and software, adding, removing, or updating user accounts information, resetting passwords.
  • Answering technical queries, maintaining security posture, monitor system security, documenting
  • Analyze event logs and monitor servers and apply corrective actions when necessary to ensure all servers are operational
  • Upgrade server hardware, including memory, hard drives, external media devices (optical and non-optical), monitors, motherboards, processors, video cards, network cards, and other special purpose cards

Qualifications

Bachelor of Science (BS) Degree in Computer and Information Systems, Computer Science, or other related Engineering, IT, or Cyber Security Degree

Security+ certification required; CISSP preferred

Minimum of four (4) years professional as a Systems Administrator and/or related IT role

Prior Navy program experience preferred

Knowledge of Risk Management Framework (RMF) process

Prior experience capturing and refining information security operational and security requirements

Prior experience implementing security controls, configuration changes, software/hardware patches, vulnerability scanning, and securing configurations

Demonstrated experience with both Windows and Linux operating systems
