Responsibilities

Noblis MSD is seeking an Engineering Manager to lead U.S. Navy projects and personnel. Responsibilities include personnel management and project coordination. Personnel Management duties include performance management, professional development, hiring, and timesheet/expense approval. Project coordination duties include requirements/scope development, resource management, deliverable reviews, and acting as a customer interface. 

 

The Team Manager will perform the following tasks:

  1. Identification of needed resources and assignment of individual responsibilities
  2. Effective application of company methodology and enforcement of project standards.
  3. Minimization of our exposure and risk on projects
  4. Ensuring project documents and deliverables are complete and current
  5. Identifying areas for improvement in internal processes along with possible solutions
  6. Assist in efforts to capture new work

Project Team Development:

  1. Writes and conducts effective performance reviews and mentors those with less experience
  2. Helps team execute career development plans

Internal Operations:

  1. Review and approval of project team timesheets and expense reports
  2. Reviews the status reports of team members and addresses issues as appropriate
  3. Complies with and helps to enforce standard policies and procedures

Client Management:

  1. Develops lasting relationships with client personnel that foster client ties
  2. Communicates effectively with clients to identify needs and evaluate alternative solutions
  3. Continually seeks opportunities to increase customer satisfaction and deepen client relationships 
  4. Build a knowledge base of each client's business, organization, and objectives

Technical Understanding:

  1. Develop a general understanding of the work performed for clients supported by the project team
  2. Develop a solid understanding of Noblis capabilities

Qualifications

Bachelor's Degree in Engineering

10 years of professional experience in engineering andor project management

Prior experience managing Navy programs or projects preferred.

Familiarity with Hull, Mechanical, and Electrical (HM&E) systems a plus.
Candidate must have an Active Secret Clearance

 

Ability to lead a small to mid-size team of engineers and analysts

Ability to communicate technical requirements 

Ability to manage/track project status (cost/schedule)

· Contribute to large capture strategies, actively engage with clients, and market Noblis capabilities externally
