Responsibilities

Noblis MSD’s mission is to support the Naval Sea Systems Command (NAVSEA) and Naval Surface Warfare Center (NSWCPD) in their missions to enable research, development, test and evaluation, acquisition, engineering, systems integration, in-service and fleet engineering with cybersecurity, comprehensive logistics, and life-cycle savings.  Noblis MSD is seeking a Electrical Engineering Specialist to support U.S. Navy Submarine Hull, Mechanical, and Electrical (HM&E) programs.  You will provide engineering and technical assistance support in Groton, CT.

 

 

The Electrical Engineering Specialist will support U.S. Navy Submarine Hull, Mechanical, and Electrical (HM&E) programs. The candidate's roles and responsibilities will include:

  • Provide technical support for submarine propulsion and electrical systems. 
  • Receive, evaluate, and interpret information received from the Fleet, as well as all relevant data sources, to determine the best course of action to insure reliable operation of the effected submarine systems and report findings in a standardized manner. Work with the Navy Program office, technical authority, In-service engineering agents (ISEAs) and other relevant data owners (as part of the identification, research and resolution of platform issues).
  • Provide technical support for proposed engineering changes to improve reliability, maintainability, and sustainability of submarine systems. The candidate will assist with developing and implementing the selected recommended improvements.
  • Analyze Casualty Reports (CASREPs), Maintenance and Material Management (3M), Detailed Feasibility Studies and other data to identify unfavorable technical (and associated cost) and/or reliability trends.

Qualifications

 

Bachelors degree in Electrical Engineering or related technical field. Six years experience may be substituted for education.

Minimum of three (3) years experience with U.S. Navy submarine systems and equipment.

Prior Navy Electronics Technician,  Electrician, or Nuclear Machinist Mate experience preferred.

Prior experience with the operation and maintenance of submarine Nuclear propulsion plants preferred.

Ability to interpret/analyze technical data.
