Responsibilities

Noblis MSD’s mission is to support the Naval Sea Systems Command (NAVSEA) and Naval Surface Warfare Center (NSWCPD) in their missions to enable research, development, test and evaluation, acquisition, engineering, systems integration, in-service and fleet engineering with cybersecurity, comprehensive logistics, and life-cycle savings.  Noblis MSD is seeking an Engineer to manage the Navy program’s system/software issues within the JIRA system.  This candidate will provide system engineering and technical assistance support in the Philadelphia Navy Yard.

 

 

This Engineer will provide technical and program coordination support to U.S. Navy programs. In this role, the JIRA System Engineer will be embedded with the Navy program/client, providing direct support to the development and advancement of shipboard Machinery Control Systems (MCS) technologies. Primary roles will include:

  • Track systems/software issues through JIRA
  • Provide technical coordination with engineering team to identify and update issues, and actions required to close/resolve issues
  • Collect and interpret technical information from the engineering team to update JIRA as required
  • Prepare and maintain requirements, Systems Engineering Process (SEP), schedules, risk matrices
  • Facilitate and participate in technical meetings to include peer and design reviews
  • Perform data analysis to aid in the tracking of efforts and resources ensuring technical milestones are documented and achieved
  • Provide reporting to program leads of issues and risks
  • Participate in special projects as required
  • Work with JIRA and Confluence software

 

Qualifications

Bachelor's Degree in Engineering or STEM related field

At least three (3) years of professional experience

Prior experience supporting Navy programs/systems a plus

Experience using Atlassian JIRA software products

Proficient with Microsoft Office products (specifically Excel and Project)

Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal

Candidates for this position will have a DoD Secret clearance or will be able to obtain one
