Responsibilities

Noblis MSD’s mission is to support Naval Sea Systems Command (NAVSEA) and Naval Surface Warfare Center (NSWCPD) in their missions to enable research, development, test and evaluation, acquisition, engineering, systems integration, in-service and fleet engineering with cybersecurity, comprehensive logistics, and life-cycle savings.  Noblis MSD is seeking a Systems Engineer to support design efforts, modeling & simulation, and power & control systems integration for future naval ship classes. 

 

Responsibilities

You will support efforts such as the following:

  • Develop requirements for systems based on the Naval Combatant Design Specification (NCDS), Design Practice Criteria (DPC) manuals, DoD and NAVSEA guidance, marine specifications, and commercial specifications as applicable.
  • Perform Analysis of Alternatives (AoA) for various control system options.
  • Work action items from NCDS reading sessions to closure.
  • Develop technical data packages and detailed design drawings.
  • Develop equipment integration designs for networking, supervisory control systems, simulators/stimulators, and other test tools/systems developed in-house.
  • Develop/modify drawings, documentation, plans and procedures for equipment integration and site upgrades.
  • Develop, maintain, configure, and manage software and hardware installation procedures, instructions, notices and Standard Operating Procedures.
  • Develop Engineering Change Proposal (ECP) packages for control systems; review ECPs in preparation for Change Control Board (CCB) meetings.
  • Provide engineering services that include development and maintenance in support of hardware and software technical documentation and requirements.

Qualifications

Required Skills

  • Solid communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Ability to collaborate with technologists to resolve complex technical challenges
  • Experience applying systems engineering fundamental concepts, processes, practices, and procedures on technical assignments. Demonstrated skills in requirements development and management.
  • Understanding of Model Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) methods and tools a plus.
  • Up to 25% travel.

 

Required Experience

  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering
  • 3+ years of professional Systems Engineering experience
  • Prior experience supporting DoD and/or Naval programs a plus
  • DoD Secret clearance, or ability to obtain one
