Responsibilities

The Shipboard HM&E Alteration Supervisor will act as NSWC Philadelphia’s On-Site Representative (OSR) for the Machinery Alteration (MACHALT) program.  This support includes assisting NSWCPD with HM&E shipboard equipment alterations (with strong emphasis on shipyard maintenance experience) including installation oversight, performing ship checks to ensure ship meets minimum requirements, monitoring installation performance against NAVSEA Standard Items, JFMM requirements, conducting in-briefs and out-briefs for ship’s force, updating ILS for each installation, and supporting Program Managers with MACHALT prototype development. Additionally, the OSR plans and coordinates all installations in the San Diego area, meeting with port engineers, ship's force, TYCOM representatives (AIR/SUB/SURFACE), and AITs as needed.

Qualifications

  • 7-10 experience working with Intermediate and Depot level activities at naval bases and industrial shipyards.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Extensive experience with Microsoft Office Suite products.
  • Extensive knowledge of shipboard and shipyard HM&E maintenance requirements and specifications.
  • Extensive knowledge and experience with NAVSEA Standard Items, Joint Fleet Maintenance Manual (JFMM) and MIL Specifications. 
  • Extensive experience with managing and tracking Intermediate and Depot Level maintenance for surface navy ships or aircraft carriers.
  • Active SECRET clearance.
