The Department of Defense’s (DoD) works cooperatively with allies and partners to reduce or eliminate weapons of mass destruction (WMD) threats.  The cooperative nature of the DoD’s activities yields a secondary benefit of strengthening regional alliances, deepening existing partnerships, and attracting new partners.   


Role Description:

Noblis is looking to hire CWMD Engineer to support the mission in cooperation with partner nations. Responsibilities for the position include, but are not limited to:  


  • Serve as technical expert in guiding the handling and destroying of nuclear, biological, and chemical weapons, materials, and delivery systems.  
  • Review technical deliverables to ensure effective and safe technical processes to handle and eliminate nuclear, biological, and chemical WMD threats, as well as known delivery systems to include submarines, aircraft, rockets, munitions projectiles, and missile propellants (liquid and solid). 
  • Assist in the design of security system requirements for WMD transport and storage systems.  
  • Conduct needs assessments, gap analysis, procurement support, and performance validation and sustainment on behalf of DOD Agency. 
  • Work across project and contractor teams to meet science and policy objectives in accordance with program cost, schedule, and performance requirements. 
  • Support program leadership in defining regional and technical requirements, establishing long-range plans, defining project and program success factors, and implementing assessment methodologies for achieving consistent, systematic processes. 
  • Make recommendations to the program leadership and facilitate the identification of trends and the desired future state for the program abroad. 
  • Document best practices across all programs, draft lessons learned, and make recommendations to adapt, apply, and embed those practices throughout the project life cycle. 
  • Provide support for organizational development, process implementation, trend monitoring, and continuous process improvement with an emphasis on ensuring critical needs are addressed in a timely manner. 

Client Engagement

· Support and lead evolving business development efforts by applying technical and functional expertise to develop business solutions.
· Lead proposal sections for small or limited competition proposals and actively participate in teaming strategy discussions



  • Education/Experience: 
    • MS degree in Chemistry; or  
    • BS degree with over 3 years of chemical agent/munitions experience; or  
    • Associates degree with 7 years of experience;  
    • No degree with 9 years of experience.  
  • Expertise in chemical, biological, radiological, or nuclear (CBRN) domains. 




  • Knowledge of CRRN WMD, component materials, delivery systems, and related systems.  
  • Knowledge of nuclear and fissile materials, to include the nuclear fuel cycle, radiological safety, and spent fuel storage. 
  • Knowledge of methods and related technologies for neutralizing or incinerating chemical weapons agents. 
  • Knowledge of methods and related technologies for safely handling and destroying biological pathogens, promoting Biological Safety and Security Standards, and enhancing country and regional disease surveillance systems.  
  • Experience working with the U.S. government on areas concerning national security 
  • Familiarity with State-level and regional WMD threats. 
  • Familiarity with nonproliferation obligations, approaches, and objectives. 
  • International engagement experience. 
  • Excellent communication, written, and organizational skills.
