Responsibilities:

Noblis develops and maintains the Universal Biometrics Toolkit for use by law enforcement agencies at the Federal, State, Local, and International levels. Products in the Toolkit have thousands of users worldwide.

 

We are seeking a Principal .NET Developer to participate in the development activities for these products and assist in mentoring more junior developers.

 

Responsibilities:

Development and related SDLC activities for the Universal Biometrics Toolkit (UBT):

  • Understanding the needs and issues of the user community
  • Object-oriented .NET-based design
  • Participating in and mentoring .NET-based code development
  • Assist in managing and scheduling enhancements and software fixes
  • Reviewing existing code (Visual Basic, C, C#)
  • Assisting with architectural design
  • Participate in testing
  • Participate in developing UBT user and developer documentation


Requirements:

Candidates should possess Bachelor's degree or equivalent and 8 to 15 years experience,  Master's degree and 6 to 12 years experience or Doctorate and 3 to 8 years work experience in software engineering.  Recent relevant experience is extremely important.

 

Experience in object-oriented .NET development and coding is required.

 

Highly desirable experience includes:

  • Software architecture
  • Coding; particularly C#, Visual Basic, Java, XML, and/or image processing development

 

Other desirable experience includes:

 

  • Requirements engineering
  • Use case analysis
  • Human factors/user interface design
  • Software quality assurance/testing
  • Release management
  • Software maintenance and documentation
  • Software engineering management
  • Biometrics/forensics domain knowledge

 

Candidates should have excellent client interface skills with strong problem solving and technical, operational, and/or analysis skills. Teamwork skills and the ability to work under pressure are required as well as excellent writing and oral presentation skills.
